GETTING INVOLVED

Ringwood's  Environmental group meets about once every three weeks on a Thursday lunchtime in MLa. Time is short so most people bring their lunch to the meeting. An agenda is always given out in advance, but there is always opportunity for ANYONE to introduce new ideas or to have their say. You don't have to be a Green Rep!  You'll find that like-minded Eco people will always listen, and that you won't be put down! You may only be interested in, say, wildlife, or in Fair Trade. That doesn't matter; there's so much on offer that you don't need to join in everything!

There are students of every year group from 7 to 13. There are also eco-friendly adults such as parents, teachers, administrative staff and governors. If you'd like to join us, check out the date of the next meeting.

GREEN REPS: Your attendance is very much encouraged at meetings. If you cannot make it, try to find someone to come along instead, to represent your tutor group. You will probably find meetings interesting and enjoyable.

HOW THE GROUP IS ORGANISED

We started the group with a dozen people. By January 2006, we had grown to over forty and now, in 2007, well over 100 students are involved with the group. We have a core of people who are heavily involved - and this is by choice! Remember anyone can get involved as much or as little as they like. The influence of the group extends throughout the school and well beyond, into our local community. Our recyclables come in from Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury, Southampton and beyond. So, if you have an interest in any aspect  of the environment, join us - a group that really does has influence!
